If anyone’s wondering how exactly unemployment fell 0.3 percent and NFP added more jobs than even the highest analyst expectation, here’s your answer:

A record 1.2 MILLION people dropped out of the labor force in January.  The civilian labor force tumbled to a fresh 30 year low of 63.7%.  Fewer people looking for work + more 99ers exhausting their UI claims = lower UI rate.  And that, my friends, is how a corrupt government manufactures statistics.
